You’re paying for a local bookkeeper who makes sure your books are right, answers your questions and stands behind the work. I use modern tools to keep the price flat and the turnaround fast, but a person checks your books.

About me
Hi, I’m Mykal
I have a business degree from Laurentian University with a focus on accounting, and I’ve been doing bookkeeping and accounting work since 2008, including as a controller building an accounting department from scratch. For the last 13 years I’ve also been a stay-at-home dad, so I know what it’s like to juggle a lot at once.
I started NorthSync in New Liskeard to give local business owners clean, current books without the accountant-level bill. You deal with me directly.

Good to know
Do you file my taxes?
No. I keep your books clean all year and hand your accountant a tidy year-end package (or you, if you file yourself). For GST/HST, you get a report for each period with simple step-by-step instructions to file it yourself.
Do I have to drop anything off?
No. Everything is online. You get your own private upload link that works from your phone or computer, or you can email documents to me.
What happens to my receipts?
Every receipt you send is saved as a digital copy and attached to its entry in your books. If the paper one fades, gets lost or goes through the wash, the copy is still there, and you can ask me for it any time.
What accounting software do you work with?
All the main ones Canadian businesses use, including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, Wave and FreshBooks. Already using one? I’ll work in yours. Not set up with anything yet? I’ll help you pick what fits.
Do you do payroll?
Payroll isn’t part of the monthly package, but every business is different. Tell me what you need and I’ll put together custom payroll help that fits, with its own quote. Bookkeeping is my specialty, so that always comes first.
Is my information secure?
Yes. I use secure, cloud-based tools, including AI-assisted tools that help me work faster, and every account is protected with two-step login. My privacy policy explains exactly how your information is handled.

Use Send documents. I check who it’s from before anything is filed.
